Sa Rapita

Sa Rapita is a small community in the calm part of the island in the South, with a good infrastructure and only two little guesthouses. The small village adjoins, with the Playa Rapita, a part of the Es Trenc beach. It´s only 23 miles away from the airport and holds about 7000 residents. Here you can find everything you need and still spend your relaxing holiday in a delightful little spot on the sunny island of Majorca.

Bank, pharmacy, supermarket and restaurants

There is a Banca March situated in the middle of the main street in Sa Rapita, next to the supermarket SPAR. A few meters ahead, you can also find a pharmacy. More shops as well as shops for everyday commodities you can find in Colonia de Sant Jordi and Campos.

The “Club Nautico” in Sa Rapita offers a nice kitchen with a really pleasant view over the sea.
In the nearby port in S´Estanyol you can also find a „Club Nautic“, where you can enjoy reasonably priced food with the locals.

Sweet Ensaimadas from the bakery

Sweet things like Ensaimadas which you can find at the bakery “Forn” at the entrance of Sa Rápita on the right side. This bakery has its own bakery and with a little luck you can see something from the production.

Vienas are tasty milk rolls which are made with a little sugar added to the dough. Especially kids love this kind of bun, particularly the “con cremas”. It is a biscuit which is coated with vanilla cream and improved with cinnamon.

There is no better place for Ensaimadas than the bakery “Forn”. You can take them to Germany as well. But it would be better if you crisp them up before you sprinkle them with powdered sugar.

The port at the exit of Sa Rápita

This port is not too spectacular, but here you can enjoy a café con leche on the terrace of Club Nautico perfectly. Directly at the beach but nevertheless kept free of sand.

The Majorcan bar Nou, on the main street of Sa Rápita, is a meeting point of locals. But tourists are also always welcome.

The Hostal Bris can be found in the third street on the left side. Vincente is cooking from March to November and he does really good! For 6€ you can get a breakfast buffet. The restaurant of the Hostal is simple, but also many workers from the area are coming here to eat.  A typical Majorcan bar with tasty food and attractive prices.

At the end of the main street heading towards Estanyol is a pizza-service where you can order a pizza to be delivered within Sa Rápita.

The Playa Rápita offers a nice jogging route to Ses Covetes which is about 4 km long. Suitable for beginners. Professionals can use the 10 km route to Colonia Sant Jordi. Furthermore there is a riding possibility in Colonia Sant Jordi.

The Playa Es Trenc with its shallow water is a perfect spot for wind- and kitesurfing and offers ideal conditions for surfers in spring and the late autumn for cross-onshore wind. In June, July and the winter months even professionals are out of breath. Equipment can be rented only in Colonia Sant Jordi.
